How I work

To find out more about how the process can work for you, contact me (email: or phone: ) for a free 15 - 20 minute consultation via FaceTime or phone. This will enable us both to decide whether I am the right therapist for you.

Typically, you will commit to 4-6 sessions which includes an initial assessment where we go through your health background and explore in more detail what you want to get out of the process.

After the initial assessment which usually lasts about 75 - 90 minutes, there will be 1 hour sessions, usually on a weekly basis, which incorporate cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy treatments and psychological coaching.

Our initial phone call will help identify areas that tend to respond well to Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy as well as identify areas that I do not treat because they are contraindicated for hypnotherapy or are beyond my sphere of competence. These areas include psychotic disorders, schizophrenia, clinical issues, migraines, epilepsy and pregnancy.

"Follow-up sessions are designed to embed the desired changes you wish to make."
Fees are payable by bank transfer or cheque.

What is Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy?

Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH) incorporates 2 evidence-based approaches; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Hypnotherapy. Both approaches have a strong research evidence base and can be combined powerfully to bring about behavioural and emotional change.

CBT is a therapeutic approach which has demonstrated its effectiveness for a variety of issues including anxiety, stress reduction, depression and phobias. CBT can assist you in understanding the links between thoughts, feelings and actions and identify any unhelpful thoughts that may be negatively impacting your life. By understanding what is not working, you can begin to change these unwanted thoughts, behaviours and feelings to more helpful, beneficial ways of thinking and being.

Hypnotherapy is a natural, relaxed state whereby suggestion can be used to subtly influence your mindset and beliefs about yourself. You are not ‘put under a trance’ or asked to ‘lose control’ in any way. Instead, in this relaxed state, you have the potential to absorb new ideas and beliefs about yourself using the power of your imagination. Coupled with CBT, this approach can help you to alter habitual patterns that keep you stuck and hopefully to implement more constructive and healthy habits and behaviours in your life.

"I also incorporate mindfulness approaches to help clients gain a sense of perspective and calm to their daily life."
